NEW ALBANY, Ohio and ARCHDALE, N.C. (July 22, 2024) — Axium Packaging, a plastic packaging manufacturer for multinational consumer product companies, today announced the opening of the company’s $36 million state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Archdale, North Carolina. The 130,000-square-foot facility is the first for the company in the Carolinas and will help Axium serve its growing client base in the region, while bringing new jobs and economic opportunity to the local community.

“We are excited about the growth opportunities North Carolina provides, and we know that becoming a part of the region’s advanced manufacturing community is an important next step in our expansion,” said Paul Judge, president of Axium Packaging. “Axium’s ability to serve our nearby customers quickly and efficiently from this plant, while introducing unique technology, operations and new sustainable solutions to the manufacturing industry, puts us in an excellent position to deliver best-in-class packaging solutions here and across the region.”

The new manufacturing facility, located about 15 miles southwest of Greensboro, utilizes the latest rigid plastic manufacturing technologies and includes a uniform platform found across its 20 facilities. Automated manufacturing lines will also support 24/7, 365-days-a-year operations. This gives Axium the ability to replicate or increase production where needed, and to expand into other packaging technologies that meet unique future customer demands.

“I’m excited to welcome Axium to North Carolina’s advanced packaging manufacturing community and about the jobs and opportunities the company brings to the region,” said North Carolina State Senator David W. Craven, Jr. “Randolph County and the state have a concentrated supply chain, product development excellence, packaging and logistics expertise, with a talented research infrastructure and job training system that will also support Axium’s long-term growth strategy.”

Axium customers include domestic and international product companies across a range of consumer categories, including personal and home cleaning supplies, food, pharmaceutical, health care and nutrition products commonly found on store shelves, in homes and in businesses across the globe.

In addition to the North Carolina General Assembly, Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, other key partners in this project include Randolph County, the North Carolina Community College System, Duke Energy, the Randolph County NC Economic Development Corporation and the City of Archdale.

“Axium is an excellent corporate citizen to bring to Archdale’s manufacturing industry,” said Crystal Gettys, business recruitment director for the Randolph County NC Economic Development Corporation. “We continue to see a boom in manufacturing and production growth in our region, and Axium’s own expansion presents opportunity for the area’s workforce, as well as the consumer product companies that rely on plastic packaging to deliver innovative products to their customers.”

“Archdale is so pleased to welcome Axium Packaging to our city as a new and valuable neighbor as we continue to bring economic vitality and opportunity to our residents,” said Archdale Mayor Lewis Dorsett. “I know that a vibrant manufacturing industry, led by companies such as Axium, provides good paying jobs and benefits to workers in our community and advanced innovation to the entire nation.”
