Axium Packaging Opens Company’s First Washington Manufacturing Plant

NEW ALBANY, Ohio and VANCOUVER, Wash. (JULY 29, 2024) — Axium Packaging, a plastic packaging manufacturer for multinational consumer product companies, today announced the opening of the company’s multimillion-dollar state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Vancouver, Washington. The 75,000-square-foot facility is the first for the company in Washington and will help Axium serve its growing client base in the state, as well as nearby Portland, Oregon, and throughout the region, while bringing new jobs and economic opportunity to the local community.

“We are excited about the growth opportunity the Northwest U.S. presents, and we know that becoming a part of Washington’s advanced manufacturing community is an important next step in our expansion,” said Paul Judge, president of Axium Packaging. “Axium’s ability to serve our nearby customers quickly and efficiently from this plant — while introducing unique technology and sustainable products and operations to the manufacturing industry — allows us to deliver best-in-class packaging here and across the region.”

Axium’s Vancouver manufacturing facility, located at the Port of Vancouver and just across the Columbia River from Portland and the Portland International Airport, is near key customer partners, cutting travel and delivery time to reduce environmental footprints and costs of production. Axium utilizes the latest rigid plastic manufacturing technologies and incorporates post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in many of its packaging solutions. A uniform platform across the company’s 20 facilities and automated manufacturing lines will also support 24/7, 365-days-a-year operations. This will give Axium the ability to replicate or increase production where needed, and to expand into other packaging technologies to meet unique future customer demands.

“We’re pleased to welcome Axium to the port and our state. Its commitment to sustainability in products and processes are a great fit for our community,” said Julianna Marler, CEO of the Port of Vancouver USA. “We appreciate the jobs this brings to the Pacific Northwest and look forward to supporting future growth opportunities at the Port of Vancouver USA.”Axium customers include domestic and international product companies across a range of consumer categories, including personal and home cleaning supplies, food, pharmaceutical, health care and nutrition products commonly found on store shelves and in homes and businesses across the globe.

“The Columbia River Economic Development Council (CREDC) is excited to welcome and support Axium Packaging in its move to Clark County, a premier location for access to customers and business partners throughout the Northwest,” said Jennifer Baker, CREDC president and CEO. “Axium will be a great fit for our business community, bringing innovation, jobs and additional opportunity to the region.”

“We welcome Axium Packaging to Vancouver and look forward to working with the company to expand its reach and economic impact in our city and beyond,” said John P. McDonagh, president and CEO of the Greater Vancouver Chamber. “Our region and the entire state of Washington continue their economic growth, and Axium, as a rapidly growing, innovative manufacturing company, will be an ideal business and community partner.”
